An image based on a Thorki AU fanfic which was wrote by a fangirl in Chinese Weibo.

Loki was a high-class android made in the form of young man and used for multiple purposes. (also as a sax doll)  For some reason he build up the mind of his own and run away from his owner.

Thor, a half-baked mechanical engineer, who found Loki on the street with badly damages and helped him escaped.  Thor hided Loki in his little mechanical shop, tried everything to fix him, and hoped that one day Loki would become his own android.  However, later on he found that Loki was too clever to follow anyone’s order …

To catch the feeling for this image, I watch the clip of “Ghost in the shell: Innocence” so many times and even memorized the main theme.

The opening of GIS Innocence was so beautiful.  Too bad that my art skill still can’t capture the sacred feelings.

But I think I’d like most something from random_nexus expanding on her universe where Watson and Mary and Holmes are all happy with their kids, etc. Maybe a bit angsty — Watson doesn’t show up on schedule and it turns out he’s been injured, perhaps? Or the homefront vs. the trenches in WWI? *bats eyes* please?” - rabidsamfan
Summary: Domestic life at the Watson/Holmes household has expected and unexpected disruptions, hijinx and ungodly amounts of fluff ensue.
Author’s Notes: This is the fic-prize for rabidsamfan in celebration of her completing the July Writing Prompts challenge like a boss! Congrats, you awesome ficcer! Now, rabidsamfan, darling, sweetie, fuzzy lumpkin, take your insulin before reading, okay? Srsly, the Muse went crazy. I couldn’t manage wartime hijinx, so I went with home & hearth and some Watson owies, as requested. I know you’ve liked the domestic biz in the past, so I figured we were reasonably safe if I warned you against the fluff. Alright? Alright. Hope it’s okay, bebe

It’s easier to read the Threesome Parallel series in chronological order on AO3.

Fic:We were emergencies
Author: Gyzym

Summary: It’s not about being unmade; it’s about remaking, one aching step at a time.

Notes: This story has some fairly extensive trigger warnings behind it, which required some explanation as to why I wrote it at all; as said warnings contain spoilers for the story, they’re in the endnotes. If, for your own-self care, you’d like to look at those before reading, please click “More Notes <3

Additionally, the title of this has been culled from the Buddy Wakefield poem of the same name, and this story could not have been produced without: fuck-it-fire-everything, who handily provided me with the soundtrack that got me through; Sirona, who checked my Clint characterization with her expert eye; postcardmystery, who is, as ever, my better half in all things fiction and…nope, in all things period, actually; and, of course, Marie, who created the gorgeous piece of art that inspired half of this tale and THEN the un-be-fucking-lievable illustration for the story itself. You guys are the best people on earth, and I seriously would not have gotten through this without you. <3

Oops we did it again? Or, more precisely, it turned out that Gyzym had started writing a fic and I was arting the Budapest art on the side at the same time, so we flailed at the braintwining, and talked about our Clint/Natasha emotions, and I saw her wonderful and complex story grows, and felt all the feels, and I just had to art something about it in the end. Again, I feel immensely privileged to see it happening in front of my eyes, it makes me giddy, and this is my humble contribution to her epicness. <3

AND THE CLINT/NAT FIC IS UP. With absolutely gorgeous art from Marie, who continues to stun and stagger me with everything she does; I hope you guys like this as much as I loved writing it.

Reblogging for the European crowd. Just, go read this people, it broke me and made me again, as well as inspired me to paint the above. It’s STUNNING.

thebritishteapot:

Some days ago a popular italian newspaper, ‘La Repubblica’, published an article about fanfictions.

Here a translated (and a bit cut) version:

The concept of fanfiction has always existed in Literature. It happens when a character become so powerful that a single book isn’t enough. Orlando, for example. The story of his adventures, from century to century, spreads like a huge protean work, written by God knows how may hands. […]
We could give a lot of examples. Some of them are really value, others are merely literary games that come from the question ‘what if…’ […]
What we mean today with ‘fanfiction’ is a real para-literal phenomenon, broken from internet that has its origins in the current obsession of the fans towards their idols.
Amateurs works, gifts, without any ambition but hail.
To understand the fanfictions you have to keep in mind two dates: 1975 Rocky Horror Picture Show, 1977 Star Wars. Two stories that turn in costume phenomenona, become life-style, a way of thinking. They impose obsessions, fears, dreams but also make-up and costumes. But mostly they survive the time of their representation. […]
The fan becomes a clone, he empathizes his hero, dresses up like him and behaves like he thinks he could behave, or she, in some situations that can be ordering an hot dog or being questioned in trigonometry or meeting other characters like him, spilled from another story. This habit in dress-up is called cosplay and it’s a very widespread activity among young Japanese people. They got up like mangas’ or videgames’ characters or like captain Kirk and other fellows of the Enterprise crew, these devoted people roleplay, do meet-up, walk on Sunday in Harajuku, a Tokyo’s neighborhood, for the joy of happy tourists. [blah blah talking about the Comiket in Tokyo twice a year and cosplayers again, Dragonball and doujinshis].

Most of them have more erotic contents than the original one. They’re split in specialities, according to the audience. Homosexuals, heterosexuals, lesbians. There’s a pretty interesting and famous chategory, Yuri and Shoujo-ai: even talking about gay relationships with males characters, they’re addressed to a feminine target. Women that find arousing sex between young boys.
The doujnshis are fanfiction to all intends and purposes. As are the stories inspired by the music stars [blah blah Justin Bieber and Nirvana].
Is it plain that without internet fanfictions would not exist. Heaven of non-hierarchic meeting, global temple of that religion who abolishes the copyright, in the internet we are all equal and everything is everyone’s. In this aesthetic anarchy, where every awe and decency towards the capably is quashed, anyone can be author without shame.. These awkward literal proofs, which suggested to an editor would be immediately thrown out of the window, are kept in specific websites and swallowed up by that kind of person who buys on eBay the chewing-gum chewed by Britney Spears. A huge audience, totally derived from the original’s fame. Whether it is a rock band, a Japanese comic or a novel. Twilight and other Stephanie Meyer’s books, Harry Potter and in all its forms or The Lord of the Rings are the most dreamt and reinvented. Obviously this big amount attracts all the publishers who’re looking for the success [blah blah about a Twilight fanfiction].
Sometimes, when they present my last book, someone asks: Are Davide and Anna (the two main-characters) engaged? Or: has the scooter be stolen from him? I used to reply: I don’t know, they’re not real. But maybe it’s too simple. Maybe exists a little corner where the characters hide, a limbo between the author’s imagination and the reader’s wish, where other things are possible. From now I’ll reply: you tell me. Or even better, write it!

(Sorry for the bas translation, but we had no time enough)

Here the original article: click

As you can see, this is an offensive (and bad-informed) unfounded statement towards every fanwriter, every fanreader, every cosplayer, fan and fandom.

I don’t need to remind you the pleasure of share our interests, publish beautiful works, share our opinions and feedbacks with the author himself!

We accept critics but no misinformed and ingnorant attacks like this one.

We’re going to collect signatures to send a reply to this journalist (?) on this Saturday.

If you have facebook, please visit this page. It’s in italian, but all we ask to you is to leave your full name, your age and your occupation, so we can add it to this letter.

We’ve already collected about 50 signatures and we’re expecting to collect more and more of them.

Let’s show the power of the united fandoms.

Please.

Thank you to cuil-chan who helped me in this speedy translation

(Damn it… I couldn’t finish this yesterday, and now it’s to late… Well, might as well I should post this and move along)

I’ve read the translation, may I share with you guys my points of view?

Everything before and until “in the internet we are all equal and everything is everyone’s.” I see no harm, no insult. The author of this article is merely stating facts (and she’s kind of disinformed: she forgot the Star Trek fandom and I should add the X-Files fandom. -ETA: And the Sherlock Fandom of course, the first one!- She didn’t write “yaoi”, which I think is more accurate than “shonen-ai” in this context. Also, doujinshis ARE and ARE NOT fanfiction: doujinshi are comics -related to other major comics- made by fans. Fanfiction is… fanfiction.)  The only objection I have is “The fan becomes a clone”. Well, that fan is not a clone. HE LOOKS LIKE, BUT HE’S NOT. I know the fans are all the same for the Lady Author, but they’re not. So I would have used: “The fan becomes his own interpretation of his hero (and a lot of those interpretations are so alike, that they look like clones)” That would be more accurate. XP

Here is when we start:

“in the internet we are all equal and everything is everyone’s.”

Yes and No.

Yes, we all have the same opportunities to share our works, our thoughts, our opinions and we use others people’s works, thoughts and opinions to construct our own works, thoughts and opinions. We share everything here.

No, because, like in real life, we build structures, we build hierarchies, ranks, so some people are more recognizable to others -more “famous”- because of their contribution to the community: maybe they are well known artists, or writers, or thinkers, or trolls, whatever. And so, it’s more likely their opinons would be taken in account more than someone else’s opinions who has not that influence. Also, not everything is everyone’s.  Authors always defend their works, they state “Hey, that’s mine!”. Works and opinions have a source, so there’s a kind of non written law that says you can use everything as long as you respect the source (so its more likely you won’t have problems with the authors or other users… but of course, some stuff like easy jokes, reaction gifs or certain memes are more difficult or impossible to source. It’s a wild land here.)

In this aesthetic anarchy, where every awe and decency towards the capably is quashed, anyone can be author without shame… These awkward literal proofs, which suggested to an editor would be immediately thrown out of the window,

DUH!! Of course!! that’s copyrighted work in the first place, so you’ll need permission from the author and paid the rights to publish it!! Don’t you understand how the world of fanfiction works, lady author? Nobody will take their fanfiction to publishing houses!  But… I do think fanfiction is a good way to sharpen your skills, to understand your audience and to start your writing career, if that’s what you want. So, this is a Yes and No:

Yes, that it’s true: With thousands of stories that look like clones, with the same themes and same endings, of course you’ll need a more profound bond work, and more than being popular in internets to sell your work, if that’s what you’re want to do.

No, that’s not true: They’ve published  X-Files books, Star Trek books and  Star Wars books.  What are they ? 0.o We just don’t know … (they look like FANFICTION TO ME). -ETA: And a lot of related and derivative works from Sherlock Holmes-

are kept in specific websites and swallowed up by that kind of person who buys on eBay the chewing-gum chewed by Britney Spears.

Swallowed up… Lady Author means like something you don’t want, but you’ll have to cope… Well, I enjoy my fanfiction recs. I don’t swallow them up. If I’m reading a fanfiction and I think “nah, I don’t like it”, I stop and I go to the other. I’m not in a kind of torture device by reading them. I enjoy fanfiction and I’ve found excellent works. If you don’t enjoy them, Lady Author, that’s your taste. But don’t tell us what our tastes should be.

That kind of person who buys on eBay the chewing-gum chewed by Britney Spears… This insult is so moronic and idiotic as this one I’m making: You, lady author, just want to stir up the internets so you sell more of your stupid books, surely you think “The fandom is so idiot, except my fans”, but you’re nothing but a fanficcer of other great authors, and you suck. XP

Did lady author do her research? Because that article is so lazy. I’m pretty sure she tought: “I’m gonna ask my kid/niece/neighborg’s kid so they tell me what the fandom is, yes. And wiki. Wow, i made an article.

Well guys, I just wanted to take this out of my chest. And, well… I’m working with what you’ve told us, so if you dismissed important information from the article… then my “amazing” reply :B won’t be so “amazing” BHAAHAHAHAHA!! :B

But whatevs… lady author didn’t do her research, why should I? XP

Arthur’s in the nightmare business.

So there are only a handful of fics that I *need* to read over and over again as soon as I think of it. Patience, a Steady Hand by Helenish is one of them.

It is one of the most gorgeous, well written, fantastic pieces of art I’ve ever read. As soon as I start reading it I have to finish it. I’ve lost days just thinking about it afterwards. Days! Days of just thinking about Viking AUs, it’s ridiculous.

the-diary-of-an-invisible-girl:

A recent need for some pain dampening reading has caused me to delve back into the world of fanfic, and while I oddly tend to read fic mostly for things I’ve never watched, and I avoid reading other people’s versions of characters I write, I’ve still managed to run against the same patterns, and I’m interested in why … thus trope talking time.

1. Movie Night

Be it Buffy, or Avengers or X-men or even sometime Sherlock for really inexplicable reasons, there seems to be an obsession afoot in fandoms at large about getting the characters together to watch movies. This goes double for any “enemy turned friend” scenarios, though why on earth this would make people more inclined to sit in the dark with one another I’m not sure.

Conjecture: Perhaps its the best way to deal with an ensamble cast? Having eight people to write dialogue for is a massive pain in the ass, and its a hell of a lot easier when they aren’t supposed to be talking.

Conjecture the second: This is a great way to give characters opportunities to stare at one another “unseen” though frankly I’ve never sat in the dark next to someone getting a handjob without being the asshole who leaps up and points it out to the world in full anatomical detail.  (I think this stems from the fact that I refuse to be in a threesome without knowing it … wasted opportunities and whatnot).

Conjecture the third:

Perhaps the writers are placing themselves in a social situation that they long for. Most television shows give us a distorted idea of what friendship is like in reality. Take, for example, how many people really make up a group of friends. Eight people is getting excessive for a group that seems joined at the hip, and frankly most people are lucky to have only one or two people we actually want around that often in real life and frankly couches are not that large and sprawling on the floor to watch a movie sucks without a good amount of pillows.

But sociologically this is an weird thing to focus on. Its not just that we all want friends, I get that part, but apparently there is some serious longing to sit in the dark with them going on. What that is about, without a good deal of empirical study, we may never know.
