Detention of the Dead @ the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood

What up Pirates?
Are you in or around the LA area? Do you want to catch a screening of Detention of the Dead over at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood? (Yes you do)
Do you also want to catch Max Adler at that screening? (I know you do)

A group of us when we saw a screening in Long Beach met up with the director and some of the cast of the movie. Absolutely LOVED it. Fulfilled all of my ZomCom needs and more. Well afterwards they had a little Q&A that surprised us and apparently Max was supposed to be there but he had filming to do over in Kentuckyland.
I went to go thank the director and whatnot and he said that they were going to do a little midnight screening over at the Chinese theatre and he told me Max was gonna swing on by. I thought it’d be a nice thing to go tell all y’all. So join us as we laugh through one of the most quirkiest Zombie Comedy Coming of Age 80’s Pastiche that is Detention of the Dead.

duuuuuuuude, Josh Gad told him he’d rock in the audition??!? that’s AMAZING OMGGG, DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS? it means the producers are interested in him and the dude who’s shoes he’d be filling is totally okay with that. winninggg

and as far as Glee…yeah that’s too bad…but i wonder who’s call that was…

It means Max isn’t letting RIB silence his voice anymore. He’s stopped himself from singing for so long, but now he’s done with that.

GOD, PLEASE DON’T LET HIM TAKE OVER. GIVE IT TO JARED, JARED’S AMAZING. JUST NOT ANOTHER GLEE/BROADWAY TAKE OVER.

Max never sang in the series. He barely danced and was barely in it. He’s not your typical glee actor. In fact, he’s a very good actor by himself. I think he could do a lot with the role. It could be good.

And didn’t we just say earlier that we trust the producers will make a good choice? They gave the roles to not very well known actors. They want who’s going to be the best choice. They don’t have to put a Hollywood name there because the show fills it’s own seats already.

I get where you’re coming from, and I admit my own bias as I’ve been a Jared fan for like six years now. I’m just afraid that THEY’RE afraid about the box office dipping once Josh and Andrew leave and aren’t trusting the material if they’re willing to dip into the Glee fandom.

Granted, as is woefully obvious, I don’t know much about Glee (the only full episode I’ve ever seen was the one John Lloyd Young guested on), and I know it’s not like they’re auditioning a huge main character to take over as Cunningham. But this is a super side-eye move, especially since they’ve trusted Jared to basically be the full-time Cunningham for weeks at a time, MULTIPLE times. I’d hate for them to be dangling that carrot in front of him with only limited rewards.

I’m not sure if the producers have anything to do with Max wanting to audition. He’s a big fan of the play and has talked about it in the past. He’s a wonderful guy so please don’t give him hate based on his auditioning for this role, I know that he’s only trying to follow his dreams…plus he gets hate from Glee fans already because his character was a bully. He has no control over what the writers made his character do so it would be nice if this audition process was a happy one for him.
